The mission of VOISE Academy is to provide all students with choice, flexibility, scholarship, and individual attention by combining the use of technology, best distance learning practices, and quality online curriculum with exemplary secondary classroom teachers and student-centered philosophy. Our vision is to create a safe, academically successful school with a positive, interactive, technologically advanced environment that is rooted in developing relationships and respect. VOISE Academy will prepare its learners for living and working in today’s society while honing communication skills through online learning as a catalyst to future success and a lifelong love of learning.
Research shows that students learn as much, if not more, online than in the traditional setting, but also indicates increased satisfaction online with adequate support (Smith, Clark, & Blomeyer, 2006). Satisfaction is a catalyst to increased knowledge building. VOISE will break down barriers to student achievement while simultaneously educating teachers, students, parents, and the community in the importance of learning and applying technology, teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills with the end goal of increased student academic achievement and preparedness for successful postsecondary outcomes. Using databased decision making, VOISE Academy will prove and improve itself and become a model for future schools.
